Caitlin Baker will lead our discussion this week:
"For this week's journal club I'm choosing a paper on the effects of missing data in RADseq. I know a bunch of us are using/want to use RADseq to get at questions in our favorite taxa, and missing data is a rampant problem in the method, hampering phylogenetic reconstructions. This paper points out overlooked consequences of being conservative about missing data thresholds, and should make for an interesting discussion!"
Unforeseen Consequences of Excluding Missing Data from Next-Generation Sequences: Simulation Study of RAD Sequences."Syst Biol (2016): 65 (3): 357-365.
We will be meeting at our normal time, 11 am, in the 4th floor MCZ Labs conference room. We will have coffee and snacks =)
