Rabosky, D.L. & Huang, H. 2015. A Robust Semi-Parametric Test for Detecting Trait-Dependent Diversification. Syst. Biol. Advance Access. doi:10.1093/sysbio/syv066
For our first meeting in the fall semester, Bruno de Medeiros we will be discussing this new contribution from Dan Rabosky on trait-dependent diversification:
Last year, Dan Rabosky ended the trait-dependent diversification party showing that BiSSE, and probably all of its derived models, has serious flaws. Until now, nothing had replaced the broken models and we were back to the hopeless dark ages of sister group comparisons. This paper seems to have found way out, and I think it can render a good discussion. Will we be able to tell beautiful stories about traits and diversification again? More importantly, will we be able to detect when there is no beautiful story to be told?
We will meet on Wednesday Oct 7 11-12 at the MCZ labs 4th floor seminar room.
As always, snacks and coffee will be provided.
